Mariam Rezaei

Mariam Rezaei is an Anglo-Iranian virtuoso, composer, turntablist, and performer whose work spans experimental music, free improvisation, hybrid club sounds, and hip-hop. Rezaei uses a digital vinyl system that allows her to manipulate a wide spectrum of samples in real time. In addition to mastering traditional turntablist techniques, she has developed several unique approaches of her own.
Her latest solo album FRACTURED (released on the Heat Crimes label) received acclaim from The Wire, Uncut, and Bandcamp Daily, and was named one of The Quietus’ Albums of the Year 2024. London Jazz News calls her a “groundbreaking artist,” The Guardian describes her style as “high-speed sonic surrealism,” and The Wire hails her as “one of the most technically skilled and daring artists using the turntable as a musical instrument.”
