Workshop: Becoming Sounds w/ Rie Nakajima
On Sunday, 28 November at 1:00 p.m., LOM space will host a workshop directed by Japanese artist Rie Nakajima.
Register here. Limited capacity!
The workshop will provide an experience of placing sounds in a space, and how to organise them together. We would like to ask participants to look for some objects from their living/domestic environment, one moves or can create action and one doesn’t move and that you want them to move. We can look for sounds and movement in the objects, and try how to place them in the given environment.
Rie Nakajima is a Japanese artist whose works are often composed in direct response to unique architectural spaces. In her practice, she utilises a combination of kinetic devices and found objects, creating intricate, percussive pieces. Previously, she has collaborated with venues like Tate Modern, Café OTO or Hara Museum in Tokyo, and performed alongside sound artists like David Toop, David Cunningham, Keiko Yamamoto and others.
