Kuntari is a newcomer to the vibrant Indonesian experimental music scene. The duo’s innovative soundscapes, aptly dubbed ‘primal-core’, Indonesian tribal rhythms, feral chants, feigned animal calls and digital effects converge in an obscure sonic wasteland. Kuntari are coming to NEXT hauling new material released by the iconic Yes No Wave Music. With a background in jazz, Tesla Manaf set aside his guitar in favor of a world abounding with drum machines, noise boxes and synthesizers. Joined by drummer Rio Abroro, the duo create enthralling aural sceneries blending electronic elements with forays into organic audible darkness.
