Hexorcismos
Hailing from Tijuana, Mexico, Moisés Horta Valenzuela works in the fields of computer music, artificial intelligence, and the history and politics of emerging digital technologies. His project ℌEXOℜℭℑSMOS is an uncanny link between ancient and contemporary sound technologies, channeled through a critical decolonial theory lens. Prehispanic sound artifacts from ancient México, contemporary brain-computer interfaces and hand crafted electronic instruments blend together to situate the listener in a teknoXamanistic ritual of rhythmical noise soundscapes which addresses the politics of colonization and occupation – whether it be on the dance floor or interactive immersive sound installations. His audiovisual performance in an unusual setting of the Bratislava Kunstalle’s blackbox will be both hypnotic and disturbing.
