Ryoichi Kurokawa: subassemblies
Berlin-based artist Ryoichi Kurokawa‘s audiovisual project “s.asmbli / subassemblies” pursues to explore the relationship between nature and human-made through a perspective of architectural scale. Co-produced alongside LOXOSconcept, MUTEK, Stereolux/Scopitone and TodaysArt, Kurokawa’s project distorts and reconstructs 3D laser-scanned data of human-made architecture, ruins and nature, creating a renewed timeline with layers of order and disorder while exposing the force of both nature and art. The result is an audiovisual concert with multi-channel sound, HD projection and strobe lights. Nothing is as it seems, Kurokawa’s work floating somewhere between time and space, nature and human-made, the full and the fragmentary, between abstract and concrete.
